Here’s what to expect when you invest in your health and hire me as your Personal Trainer.
First: What Does Personal Training Involve?
My main job is to create a safe and effective exercise program just for you. Your program should be unique to you and your fitness goals. The Internet is full of online programs that guarantee ‘rapid weight loss in 2 weeks’ and ‘train like me for a day and you’ll look like a pro’ or ‘take all these expensive supplements and all of your dreams will come true’.
The truth is that there are no quick fixes and no one size fits all program. For example, maybe a high-intensity workout routine that is available online could help you reach your goals fast. But you have that pain in your shoulder and your range of motion isn’t awesome. I will take those specificities into consideration to help you increase your level of fitness without causing additional harm.
I will keep track of your body composition and fitness measures. This information helps me rate your overall fitness and track your progress.
During fitness training sessions, I will watch how you move. What I may be looking for is muscular imbalances, proper form, and good posture. It may feel uncomfortable at first, but it’s better that I watch you closely rather than ignore you. Improper form can cause all kinds of problems leading to pain and injury!
If I find issues with your movement or posture, I will work to correct those throughout your program. The best part is, I can help you achieve your fitness and wellness goals while fixing those issues.
Your exercise program will include movement and education. I will help you understand the benefits of strength training and cardiovascular training. At the end of your exercise program, you will know how to move correctly. You will learn about the equipment and how to use it. Finally, you’ll learn about diet and nutrition and how to maintain healthy eating habits.

Education on healthy eating is key as well to guarantee weight loss, so I will share my knowledge of nutrition with you, to make sure that you do not sabotage your goals.
INJURY REHABILITATION AND POST PARTUM WOMEN
Coming back from a physical injury, be it a sports injury, or recovering from a surgical procedure, can be a long and frustrating process. It’s tempting to hurry the process and to push yourself beyond what is necessary and often safe.
I can help you keep your motivation up and ensure that the direction you’re going will lead to a safe recovery. With a combination of balance and coordination exercises, strength training and stretches, I will get you back up to speed in due time.
New mums, I will design a programme specifically for you, so that you can go back to working out safely after your pregnancy.
SMALL GROUP TRAINING
Boxing fitness, Pilates, AquaFitness or Bootcamps appeal to you and friends/colleagues? I offer special rates for groups of 3 to 8 participants, with workouts tailored to the needs of the class. Having someone right beside you can enhance the level of your workouts, and can offer friendly competition to keep everyone moving with a smile on their face. And trust my experience, when you are all in the same boat, you are always guaranteed to have fun and push through together!
Pre training Forms and Fitness Assessments
Before we start training together, I will ask you to fill out a few forms:
Pre-Screening Questionnaire: This is to make sure I am aware of any health condition you may have that could affect your training, and so that I can prepare customised workouts for you to train safely. Safety first :)
Lifestyle questionnaire: As it says on the tin, this is to get a better understanding of your lifestyle: your current level of activity, what your likes and dislikes are in terms of exercise, and very importantly what your short and long-term goals are. If you want to lose weight, tell me why. The more transparent you are, the better I will be able to design sessions best suited for you.
Eating habits questionnaire / Food Journal: This is specific to clients wanting to lose weight; I may ask you to fill in a food journal over a period of 4 to 7 days. Recording your daily food and drink consumption will give me a clearer picture of your current eating habits, so that I can give you the best advice possible and help you make meaningful changes.
Next up are fitness assessments. It’s important for me to understand your current fitness level. Which assessments I choose will depend on your answers to the questionnaires. Here’s what you might expect:
